SARASORIS

Custom software for Colorado auto repair shops

Work orders, bays, technicians, parts and customer approvals in one app, so the front counter always knows where every car stands.

For owners of independent auto repair, body, tire and fleet service shops. Your technicians should be turning wrenches, not hunting for a parts order or waiting for a customer to call back.

Short answer. A custom app for a repair shop runs each vehicle from drop-off to pickup: the work order, inspection photos, estimates the customer approves by text, parts ordered and received, and which bay and technician has it. It totals technician hours and comebacks, and connects to QuickBooks. It fits shops that Tekmetric or Shopmonkey do not suit.

Does the front counter spend all day on the phone?

  • Customers call to ask if their car is ready, and someone has to walk out to the bay to find out.
  • Estimates wait on voicemail while the car sits on a lift.
  • Parts are ordered by phone, and nobody is sure what arrived for which job.
  • Inspection findings are scribbled on the work order and never reach the customer.
  • Nobody can easily see technician efficiency, comebacks or which jobs make money.

What would the app do?

  • Digital work orders from drop-off to pickup, with each vehicle’s history
  • A bay board: every car, its technician, its status and what it is waiting on
  • Inspection checklists with photos and notes, sent to the customer
  • Estimates the customer approves or declines by text, with a record of each answer
  • Parts ordered, received and matched to the job, with cores and returns
  • A text to the customer when the car is ready
  • Technician hours, efficiency and comebacks, by job and by technician

Why not Tekmetric or Shopmonkey?

Tekmetric, Shopmonkey, Mitchell 1 and similar shop systems are good, and most independent shops should look at them first. A custom app fits when your work does not match their shape: fleet contracts with their own approvals and reports, a body shop working with insurers, a tire and service mix, or several locations that share parts and technicians. It also fits when you only need one piece, such as fleet reporting, beside the system you already use.

Can it handle fleet customers?

Yes. Fleet accounts can have their own vehicles, approval limits, preventive maintenance schedules and monthly reports, so the fleet manager sees every vehicle’s history without calling the shop.

How much does it cost to start?

Discovery is $1,500, and most projects cost $8,000 to $80,000. You get a fixed price in writing before the build starts. A common first piece is the bay board with text approvals; parts, inspections and fleet reports come next. See pricing, or get a rough range from the cost estimator.

Questions

Do customers have to download anything?

No. Estimates and updates arrive by text with a link that opens in the phone’s browser.

Can technicians use it at the bay?

Yes. It runs on a tablet or phone at the bay, so photos and notes go straight onto the work order.

Can it connect to QuickBooks?

Usually. QuickBooks Online lets other software send it customers, invoices and payments. We confirm what you need during Discovery.

Do we pay per user?

No. There is no per-user license from Sarasoris. Hosting is paid directly to the provider and is usually $50 to $200 a month.
