Subcontract UI design
Interface design for apps, dashboards and software products, for teams that have developers and need a designer: clear screens, every state drawn, and a Figma file your developers can build from.
For development shops, product teams and agencies. We design inside your design system or start one, under your name, and stay on hand while your team builds it.

Short answer. We design the screens of web and mobile apps white-label: layouts, components, every state from empty to error, and a design system in Figma your developers can build from without guessing. Our team also writes production code, so the designs are buildable. Rates are agreed in writing, per project or by the hour.
Are your developers designing the screens themselves?
- Screens get built straight from the ticket, and each one looks a little different.
- Nobody drew the empty state, the error or the loading screen, so they look like an afterthought.
- The product works, but clients judge it by how it looks in the demo.
- There is a design system in theory, and twelve shades of gray in practice.
What do you get?
- Screen designs for desktop, tablet and phone, as the product needs
- Every state: empty, loading, error, success, long names and missing data
- Components with their variants in Figma, matching how your developers build them
- Type, color, spacing and icon styles as tokens your code can use
- Clickable prototypes for the flows that need testing or a client demo
- Contrast and touch-target sizes checked against WCAG
Why does it matter that our designers also code?
Because a design is only as good as what gets built. We draw components the way they will be coded, name things the way developers will name them, and leave out flourishes that are expensive to build and add nothing. When your team asks how something should behave, the answer is already in the file.
Can you work inside our design system?
Yes. We use your components and styles where they exist, propose new ones only where something is missing, and add them to your library so the next screen is quicker. If there is no system yet, we build one as we go, starting with the pieces the first screens need.
Questions
Do you work in Figma?
Yes. The files are organized for handoff and shared to your team’s account.
Can you redesign an app that already exists?
Yes. We start from the current screens and how people use them, then redesign the parts that cause the most trouble first.
Do you do UX research too?
Yes; see subcontract UX design. UI design on its own is fine when the research is done or the brief is clear.
Will you work with our developers during the build?
Yes. We answer their questions, review the built screens against the designs, and adjust the designs when the build turns up something we missed.
How is UI design priced?
By the project or by the hour, at a rate agreed in writing. Tell us about the product and the screens it needs, and we will reply with a price.
